I wrote about MyGallons.com. You can get their fixed pric
e cheaper gas card for $29.95 per year.
I saw "cheaper" and "fixed price" and thought it was a good deal at $29.95, and it may well be.
But financial whiz, Miranda Marquit at Yielding Wealth has taken a more hard nosed look at it all and points out that age old trap, additional fees. She also does a great job of analyzing the MyGallons.com deal and working out whether it will save you money or not.
As well as the basic $29.95 card, there are- $39.95 for a plan that allows you to replenish your account on your own.
- $15 overdraft fee if you go over your agreed limit.
- $1.95 reload fee to add more gas to your card.
A Good Reminder
While these are all legitimate costs and stated on the site, it's a good common sense reminder to check the details and weigh it all up for your own situation, before sealing any deal.
