Do you use your packaging to advertise?
As well as stylish packaging, simple paper bags or boxes can be business branding tools too.
Even if you feel you can't afford preprinted paper bags or packets, you can get a stamp made up. Make it something stylish, not just your business name and phone number.

Pizza Box Approach To Savvy Marketing
Let's look at the pizza box approach to savvy marketing. Encompass Media Group promote the benefits of pizza box advertising.
They call it a "moving media property". Depending on the style of pizza and your target market, a pizza box could be used to promote
- pizza range and add ons
- pizza store special deals
- movie tie ins
- a wine brand to go with the gourmet pizza
- tie in with major sports events
Partner With Complementary Businesses
What interested me, was the top of some boxes didn't mention pizza at all. They were completely given over to e.g. public transport ads or mobile phone ads - tying in with a message the target market pizza customers would identify with e.g. saving time, saving money, convenience etc.
Savvy Marketing
This is savvy marketing, as the pizza store or franchise is partnering with a complementary business (in terms of target market). The pizza store is making money from advertising, so the boxes are a plus rather than an operating cost.
The partnering company is reaching a large target market in a receptive, relaxed mood.
