A happy employee is more likely to be more productive, and value the trust put in them with regards to accountability.

In this age of the internet, the business model has also changed in many instances. You can have two people who live on opposite sides of the world or country. They can work together.
Own A Business Together Without Having Met
They can even own and operate a business together. I'm always fascinated by stories of people who have partnered to start an internet based business, but have never met.
Telecommuting is the way of the future.
