Women are greatly influenced by light and color. They like to bring the outside into their office. They're shooting for offices that are much more open, have larger windows and have more natural light coming in.
I'm not sure if this is a generalization, but it's one I can certainly identify with. I would also add a light over my computer, plenty of storage space and personal touches.
As home offices become more commonplace, there is likely to be more demand for making a women's (or man's) home office part of the design of a new house.
Many women's home offices are not actually separate rooms, but a corner of the kitchen table or a part of another room.
So the thought of their own office, let alone a custom designed one, is sheer luxury to some women.
What is most important to you in your home office? Space? Organization? Being close to (or away from) the kids? Natural light? Color? Anything else?
I'd be interested to hear what works well in your home office, and whether you have tips for others on a budget?
- What would be your ideal home office?

A spacious room with lots of books and all home office appliances one could only dream of.
