Chrisco Australia Hampers In The News
News.com.au reports
SOME kids are facing a Christmas without presents as Christmas hamper company Chrisco faces a systems meltdown...
As well as food and drink hampers, Chrisco also sells gift packs – and the delays are causing some parents all kinds of headaches.
Prepaid Christmas Food & Toy Hampers
Chrisco consumers pay a monthly fee to purchase prepaid Christmas hampers for pre Christmas delivery. This suits a lot of people for convenience or as an enforced savings plan to cover Christmas costs.
Some parents have hundreds to thousands of dollars invested in Chrisco hampers, covering food and toys.
Chrisco Australia CEO, Lee Hill is quoted saying that
if customers had not yet been contacted,
they would either receive their hamper by
December 25 or get a full refund
Refunds & Time Factors
With refunds still being sorted out, and their Christmas budget still tangled up with their prepaid hampers, many parents cannot now afford to go out to buy Christmas gifts for their children. Time is also a factor.
Stress
Imagine the emotional and financial stress for Chrisco consumers including parents who ordered toy hampers, especially when they had planned and budgeted ahead.
Convenience
The Chrisco concept suits a lot of people as evidenced by order of over a million hamper this year. There have been many happy customers in the past, as is reflected in online forums.
When Santa Doesn't Deliver
However, Chrisco's assurances that there won't be a repeat next Christmas is not likely to convince parents affected this year.
No parent is prepared to tell their children that Santa didn't come.
