A Relaxed Customer Is A Happy Customer
The more you can help your customers relax the better. A welcoming store environment with some Christmas atmosphere is a great start.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, a good range, ease of access in store and good customer service are also important.

The more relaxed customers are, and the more they are enjoying the experience, the longer they are likely to browse. The idea is to minimize customer stress and your own stress.

Enjoy The Christmas Atmosphere Yourself
If you are frazzled, this is very quickly conveyed to customers. They may feel they are taking up your time or that it's just a transaction. It's good to be busy in retail, right?

If you can interact with customers and seem relaxed, even if you are flat out, they will appreciate this. They will understand it can't be a lengthy chat when there are others waiting. Customers will not have a lot of time to spare either.

A Friendly Face In The Christmas Frenzy
But a friendly face and going the extra mile in admidst the Christmas frenzy is likely to be remembered long after Christmas. A positive interaction when people are stressed can make their day.
