The Mindset Of Company Culture Change

I've been exploring our Know More Media blogs and posts and finding some real gems.

One of these is Maria Palma's Before Customer Service Can Change The Culture Can Change at the Customers Are Always blog.

Changing Company Culture
There is a lot of talk in business about the "company culture" and how it needs to be changed. Change requires a shift in mindset.

Factors For Effective Change
Changes can be issued as directives, but the most effective change occurs when factors such as the following are considered.

Company Culture Change Mindset

  • ownership of the concept by the team
  • staff input and collaboration is sought when appropriate
  • staff are valued
  • leader is respected
  • team is cohesive and respectful of each other
  • individual strengths are taken into account
  • leader can motivate others
  • change is not ad hoc
  • leader and team members are open to change
  • leader and team members see the purpose of change
  • staff are client and customer focused
  • strategies built in for ongoing refinement and a level of flexibility
What If You Don't Agree With The Change?
Not all staff will agree with all aspects, but without the staff onboard and the leader seeing themselves as part of the team, effective change in a company's culture is unlikely to eventuate.

Over To You

What mindset changes do you feel could be added to this list? What have been your experiences in this area? Any tips or thoughts?
