Australia's Courier Mail Newspaper reports a trend in Childcare Centers to value add their services.
Time strapped parents need help with looking after their kids. Obviously, that's why you go to a childcare center. But if you ran a childcare center what would you value add to help your business and parents at the same time?
Lateral Thinking With Value Added Services
A bit of lateral thinking and these childcare centers came up with some innovative solutions to help parents. One offers to organize your ironing for you. Just drop it off along with your kids, and pick it up the same day or the next day.
Another childcare center sells bread and milk, as this is traditionally something parents need to stop for on the way home from the childcare center.
Some other services offered by these savvy childcare centers include ordering your takeout meal for you.
How does free babysitting at night, or taking your older children to school sound? Yes, they're on the list too.
Competition & Establishing A Point Of Difference
The Courier Mail quotes Little Ted's Childcare Center manager, Jodie Knight as saying, "There's a childcare center on nearly every corner at the moment, so you need to stand out from the crowd, and offer parents as much as you can."
These childcare centers are a great example of value adding a core service, and of establishing a point of difference.

This is a nice example of how a small business can offer better service to its customers. Good post!
