With recent questions about how folks can get into business opportunities without dumping their entire retirement accounts or losing everything they've saved, this press release from WIN Home Inspection franchises caught my eye. According to their release, the company already offered a discount of 10% to military veterans buying into their franchise program. This month, in honor of Veterans Day, they've bumped the discount rate up to 25% in cooperation with the VetFran program.
Apparently they are fairly new to the VetFran program, having begun participation about 3 years back. If you're a military veteran looking for something to do after retirement or the end of your service, this may be an option worth looking into. WIN isn't the only company participating in VetFran; there are plenty of others to consider based on your own personal passions or talents, not to mention the amount you're able to spend to buy into a franchise opp.
Another lesson to learn from this press release is that not all companies who offer veteran discounts to potential franchisees are advertising it. If you enjoy the products or services offered by a company that appears to be a franchise, and you think they'd be a good fit for you, don't hesitate to ask them about veteran discounts. You may be pleasantly surprised to learn that they do offer something -- or your request may be the catalyst to a company choosing to help vets get into business through discounted franchise rates. Never hurts to ask!
