SmallBizMentor would like to congratulate Miguel Galarza, a San Francisco construction firm owner who has been named the SBA's 2006 Minority Small Business Person of the Year. Mr. Galarza will be honored next week in San Francisco for his accomplishments as president and owner of Yerba Buena Engineering & Construction, Inc.
Originally started in 2002 with a staff of six and a revenue of $350,000, Yerba Buena now employs 35 and is expected to bring in over $10 million in sales. Thanks to the assistance of an SBA business development plan, Mr. Galarza learned how to gain federal contracts to build his business. He has received multiple honors for his community work and service in addition to his financial accomplishments, demonstrating that customers aren't the only people small business owners should serve -- we should also serve our communities through schools and other important venues.

Great post, I see racial self-segregation all the time, and I want to investigate the issue more thoroughly.
I always find something new and interesting every time I come around here - thanks.
