The submission requirements for the second annual Cowboys & Indians Photo Contest have been released in the new issue along with the requirements for their Mystery Writing Contest.
If you haven't already seen some of the amazing photos that are normally in this publication, I encourage you to check them out. Last year they created the contest and a special Photo Essay issue. The grand prize winner (along with the runners-up) of the 2006 contest will be featured in the March 2007 Photo Essay issue. The grand prize winner will also receive "photo goodies" and a paid feature photo assignment for the magazine. (Can you say "WOW!"?)
All the guidelines are posted on their website, but here are the basics:
- There are five contest categories: Portrait, Landscape, Wildlife, Action and Equine.
- Images must be submitted electronically.
- Images must be sent at 72 dpi, but a high res copy (300 dpi) will be requested from finalists.
- Submitted files must be in .JPEG format and may be no larger than 2MB in size.
- Images must be submitted to photocontest@cowboysindians.com.
- An email cover letter must include: your name, age, mailing address, daytime phone number, and email address.
- Deadline is 1 October 2006.
