So you've drawn the visitor into your small business website and convinced them, via your informative and motivating sales pages, to purchase your product or sign up for your service. Then you got them to fill up their shopping cart with your goodies. Now how do you get their money?
By creating a virtual terminal that can accept payments via PayPal, electronic check, or credit card. And how do you do that?
With a merchant account through a credit union, bank or other such service provider. Some web hosts will include this option in your service package (mine does); others will make you find your own or will offer it as an a la carte option. No matter what, if you have a shopping cart, you need a cash register. PayPal and QuickBooks offer them, as do a multitude of other folks. These two are specifically outlined in Daniel Kehrer's article over at DailyBreeze.com. I'll let him do the 'splainin, Lucy.
