Don't forget, writers: this Wednesday is the deadline for late entries in the 75th annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition. The original entry deadline was 15 May 2006, but late entries are accepted thru 1 June for an additional $2 per late entry (on top of the regular entry fees per submission).
There are ten categories: inspirational writing, memoirs/personal essay, magazine feature article, stage play, television/movie script, children's/YA fiction, rhyming poetry, non-rhyming poetry, genre short story and mainstream/literary short story. Prizes range from an award certificate to a year's WD subscription, and cash prizes range from $50 cash up to $3,000 cash and a trip to New York for the grand prize winner.
Entries will be accepted online as long as entry fees (and applicable late fees) are paid by credit card at the time of submission, so polish off the last rough edges on those projects and get 'em submitted!

Happy Birthday Mel!!
