As you know the SmallBizMentor would much prefer to see your business well-prepared for any and all emergencies (well, as much as we can be, right?) These two articles popped up on my radar today and are both chock-full of interesting information, such as reasons to prepare, how to get started, and how to ride out occurrences like natural disasters and pandemic bird flu.
The first, over at the Burnaby Newsleader, specifically focuses on emergency preparedness for the small business owner. The second is a general opinion article about the effect pandemic bird flu would have on businesses and individuals from Dorothy Teeter, interim director and health officer for Public Health (Seattle & King County, Washington). Both cover different points and, combined, provide the small- or home-based business owner with a well-rounded introduction to emergency preparedness.
Don't forget there are other links along these lines in the archives here at SmallBizMentor too! Don't be caught unaware; prepare!
