Seems like we've all heard the stories by now, like the one about the guy who sold a million bucks worth of product on eBay at only 19 years old. Entrepreneurial souls appear to be hitting the big time with virtual shops on good ol' eBay. Personally, I've got neighbors who seem to be addicted to the eBay ecosystem, and every time I turn around I hear about another brick-and-mortar business owner who has added a new level to their profit margin thanks to an online store through eBay.
Is it for you? Depending on what kind of wares you want to hawk, it may well be! Yes, I know that there are tons of folks who wander about garage sales claiming they'll find the goods to make millions as eBay sellers, but there's got to be something more to it, right?
Yes, right!
Turns out you can't just pop onto eBay one day, list your great-grandmother's cashew can ashtray and a sofa and become a millionaire. (Imagine that.) Certain folks have actually taken the time to set up incredibly effective and efficient selling systems, and eBay itself offers courses for sellers who want to really make a go of it, versus those who just want to clear out the garage or sell off an un-needed wedding gown.
Those of you who read Entrepreneur magazine have probably seen their new series catering specifically to eBay entrepreneurs. They also offer a huge resource center for the folks who can't wait for the next issue or need answers to questions not being addressed at that very moment. Go check out all the links and see if eBay is the place for you to set up shop. (And when you do, let me know. I've got an unneeded wedding gown you can auction off!)
