The folks over at Jerry B. Jenkins' Christian Writers Guild have announced the opening of this year's "Operation First Novel" contest. In addition to winning $20,000 (wow, that's a good sized prize!) the winner will have their novel published by Tyndale House, publishers of the Left Behind series (authored by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye).
There's no fee for entering the contest itself, but you must be a current member or student of the Christian Writers Guild to enter. Submitted books must be between 75,000 and 100,000 words and may not be under consideration for any other contests when submitted, nor may the author have had a novel published or accepted for publication prior to the entry deadline.
You've got til 4 October 2006 to become a member and 18 October 2006 to submit an entry to the contest, so perhaps it's time to brush off that manuscript you were working on and get it ready to send off!
