It's been a while since we discussed the importance of marketing to women (and the many authors and business folks who are cashing in the concept of doing so). Today I learned that Leslie Grossman, founder of the Women's Leadership Exchange, is spreading the word about her new book, Sellsation. (You can get the scoop on this one and find links to an interview with Ms. Grossman over at Workerette.com.)
Some of you SmallBizMentor visitors are women in business, so you understand the niche, but might not know how to properly market to women in a variety of industries or on different levels. It's vital that we small- and home-based business operators learn how to effectively brand our businesses and market our services to the gals like ourselves, who are making 85% of all consumer purchases!
In addition to the books you can grab off Amazon or at your local bookseller, and the usual online resources, it turns out there's a company that is focusing directly to marketing-to-women and hosting a conference for those who need the know-how. Frank About Women is presenting a get-together for Marketing to Women Leaders this May (why do the Chicago people get all the great conferences, any way?).
If this niche is up your alley, head on over to their website and get the details. Then be sure to get me a free pass, er, I mean, share the details about what you learn when you attend. <grin>

Because Chicago is a cool place to be!
