Feeling competitive? Check out this press release from The Small Biz Games announcing the creation of the first ever Small Biz Games! Turns out Overstock.com is sponsoring a $10,000 Fast Start Small Business Challenge in which 15 micro-businesses and home-based businesses will team up to compete for a $10,000 cash prize ($2,000 for each first place team winner).
In order to compete, entrepreneurs must submit an essay entitled "Why I Love Being an Entrepreneur" by 21 April 2006. Entries will be judged by Patrick Byrne, the president of Overstock.com. The folks who make the cut will compete for not only funds, but Olympic style medals and, of course, mounds of publicity. The Small Biz Games Awards Banquet and Micro Small & Home Based Business Expo will take place this May in Las Vegas, NV, which is apparently the first national trade expo focusing on super small businesses.
