Seems like this time of year home-based workers the world over are considering their taxes. According to this article over at Bytestart, about two million folks in the UK are working from home full-time. As entrepreneurs here in the US have learned, though, the stress of the corporate commute and cubicle can sometimes be replaced by the strain of running your own business, and doing it properly.
Similar to our own city, state and federal business licensing procedures, home-based businesses in the UK need to register with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). There are plenty of steps to go through for registration and taxation assessments. Interesting how the rules don't change that much, even while the terminology does, isn't it? Whether you're operating your small biz in the UK, USA, or elsewhere, you're sure to catch some great advice over at Bytestart. Check out the tax tips article, then see what else they have to offer.
