As we get closer to April 17th, tax issues are at the forefront. A new bill introduced in Kentucky has been approved by the House and is on its way to the Senate. According to this article at Inc.com, pressure from small business groups in the state caused lawmakers to reexamine the tax reform bill recently introduced by Governor Ernie Fletcher. More than 200 small-business owners gathered in protest this January, and lawmakers appear to have taken note of their inadvertent slam on small-business.
Keep an eye out, Kentucky businesspeople. The new bill delays tax cuts for larger corporations in an effort to lower the tax burden on us little guys. Big business may not like that part of the equation, so don't be surprised if you have to keep yourselves girded for battle.
