As I'm sure you've noticed, the fine folks at Know More Media (the parent company hosting this and dozens of other fantastic business blogs) are constantly adding more experts to the team of bloggers offering you great business tips and news. It's not always easy to stay right on top of everyone and I admit it takes me a while to make the rounds...I have a tendency to visit one person's blog and get sidetracked reading all their great entries!
I have, however, committed to making those rounds and giving a mention to each author I get to know. Last week I got to visit Steve Browne, author of LoneWolfTracks.com.
As I mentioned to Steve in my own comment, I believe he's got some incredible insights and expertise to offer the visitors of SmallBizMentor. I can't help but enjoy his "Lone Wolf" terminology as well. As someone who has studied the hierarchy of the canids such as wolves and coyotes (and who frequently employs the "Alpha Female" concept in this estrogen-fest of a household I dominate), I admit to being biased. However, sucking me in on a great title scores bonus points only because Steve's content is excellent.Pop by and check out his most recent posts, about the "old solo business models". I read his entry about the old business model of the "freelancer" with interest. Thanks to a career change in December of 2005, I officially became a full-time "freelance writer" rather than someone's full-time employ with a few freelance gigs here and there. Scary? CHUH. Exhilirating? Ditto. Can't wait to learn what Steve has to teach this Lone Wolf. Alpha Female. Whatever.

Mel, I'm so glad you chimed in and recognize the usefulness of the LW solo business strategy for alpha females. It's my understanding that there are more she-wolves online these days than he-wolves. I see particular application of this model to moms who aren't necessarily looking for full time income, but nevertheless want to flex their muscles and share their passion with the world. Keep up the good work on your mentoring - it's the greatest way for an entrepreneur to move along the business path. Steve
