As you've seen, there are plenty of reasons to create an e-zine or e-newsletter to market your business and even the most "non-traditional" field probably has a market out there for the content you can provide. After all, if your product(s) or service(s) fill a need in a marketplace, your information will as well.
You don't even have to write it all yourself! There are a multitude of ways to get articles, photos, and other items for an e-zine.
Glean tips and tidbits from news articles and professional journals (be sure to give proper credit for quotes, etc.), contact your colleagues and complimentary businesses for brief articles, and get in touch with experts for their advise on issues in your industry. Check websites like Associated Content a shot too. Do a search for blogs related to your field and invite bloggers to comment or write pieces for your e-zine as well.
Now I've got an opportunity for you. If you've got the urge to create an e-zine but aren't seeing how you can make your content relative enough to send out monthly, leave me a comment. I'll post suggestions right here on SmallBizMentor for you, and perhaps your fellow visitors will share their ideas as well! With all of us throwing around ideas, you're sure to find plenty to choose from so you can get that e-zine going soon.
