One of the most important investments you can make in your company is to invest in your own continuing education. As you've seen from just the few resources I've already suggested for your perusal, there's a lot to choose from. While some folks I know insist that you can't gain much of an education unless you pay through the teeth for it, I heartily disagree.
For instance, did you know that the US government actually offers a free course for entrepreneurs...online, no less? You can register through the Small Business Administration (SBA). They also offer a startup guide for potential entrepreneurs that looks mighty interesting.
Already in the swing of things with your business but looking for ways to grow? Again, education is the way to go. I was excited to learn there are even more courses available through the SBA, including marketing and advertising, risk management/cyber security and even retirement planning for small business owners.
Women in business will want to visit the Online Women's Business Center. You'll find resources from the National Women's Business Council, National Association for Female Executives, and the National Foundation of Women Business Owners. If you'd rather meet up with someone face to face about your business, visit the SBA Local Resources page to find a resource office near you.
Frankly, I always thought of the SBA as some financial institution where potential business owners could go to beg for funding...I'm glad to see I was mistaken. If you had the same idea as me, you'll want to head on over and see what is there to meet your needs!
